One of the
most interesting parts of the American Class program are the many trips that
the students take. These trips let them explore first-hand many different
areas of Israel. They acquaint the student with the land and the history of
Israel.
There are twenty-four days devoted solely
to the tiyulim; they have taken students to places like Jerusalem,
Golan, Eilat & Negev. Students also traveled throughout the Galilee and
camped in the Judaean Desert.
Much of every trip is spent hiking - the only
way to truly see a country and establish immediate and intimate contact with
it.
These trips, in conjunction with the course in Israel Geography and
Jewish History, are a vital factor in achieving the program's aims,
experientially and integrally joining Israel's historical past to its
present.
