Amichai has been the director of the American-Israel High School Program at Kibbutz Beit Hashita since its inception in 1985.
Mr. Yarchi graduated with Honors from the University of Haifa, with a
concentration in Israeli Geography and History. He spent 15 years
teaching Israeli Studies at a high school before he became the principal
of the high school at Kibbutz Beit Hashita. Amichai was chosen by the
State of Israel to act as the Israeli Shaliach (Emissary) in
Washington D.C., where he spent three years serving that community. Upon
his return, he founded the America-Israel Class at the Kibbutz Beit
Hashita High School.
Mr. Yarchi was also the recipient of an award from the University of Chicago as an Outstanding Educator. In addition to his directorship, Mr. Yarchi teaches Geography and History of Israel.
