The American Class program at Kibbutz Beit Hashita presents an outstanding opportunity for high school students to enhance their backgrounds with an international experience that is unparalleled by any other program.
U.S. and Canadian students can spend their entire 10th or 11th grade year of high school in Israel at Kibbutz Beit Hashita. This year-long learning experience challenges students to grow while providing unusual educational opportunities not available in a typical schooling situation.
The program, founded by Amichai Yarchi over 10 years ago, is comprised of many parts. There is the Kibbutz itself, located at the foot of Mount Gilboa. Families on the kibbutz adopt the students for the length of their stay. They attend classes at the high school near the kibbutz and live in dormitories adjacent to their Israeli peers. The students also work alongside other kibbutnikzim (members of the kibbutz), take trips into the Israeli country and participate in holiday celebrations.

The Beit Hashita Alumni Association aims to provide interaction between former Beit Hashita students. We hope to be able to further the close relationships formed during the program via electronic communication. Please visit our Alumni Page.
